Kanji of the year – Change – 変

Posted by Avi Telyas on Dec 12, 2008 in Uncategorized |

The Japanese Kanji Proficiency Society selects the Kanji every year on December 12th.

This year’s Kanji is 変 – Change – to capture these year’s events of a new Prime minister, Obama == Change, and the changes in climate and economic turmoil.

The same Kanji can be also used as an adjective, but then it’s meaning changes to “Strange”.
