Blog Focus Change

Decided to write more about my life in Japan, travel, food, friends; once in a while will continue to write about Technology, but definitely will not be the focus.

I have many things I want to write, but I don’t feel like starting another Blog (too lazy to maintain).

First Visit to Mainland China

Seems almost impossible, but today I will start my first trip to Mainland China. Have previously been to Hong Kong (twice) and Macao (once), but I am sure this is going to be a different experience.

My trip is to Nanjing (Nankin), in Chinese Characters it is 南京 , which means the southern Capital, which it was in the past. Since there are no daily direct flights to Nanjing, I’d have to connect through Shanghai (on my way) and Beijing (coming back), which makes the trip very long.

My twitter account (@telyas) is the best way to follow my updates and quick pictures I am taking with the blackberry, but I will do my best to update this Blog as well.

Shibuya Crossing from added  new map services, which has great “3D” photos (not just the flat satellite map). Finding it very useful, as sometimes Google’s Street View is too restrictive as taken from the street level.

As an example, see below Shibuya Crossings in Tokyo:

UQ WiMAX Marketing(?)

Yet another awful commercial from UQ WiMAX has arrived. This time, they outdid themselves, by using a cat which has a very successful Youtube channel.

See below UQ WiMAX Commercial, asking if the cat will manage to go into the box, then asking if your Laptop has WiMAX. (Did I mention this commercial is BAD?)

And a sample cat video from mugumogu channel:

Docomo Android Commercial (HT-03A)

Can’t say NTT Docomo are doing a good job promoting the Android Phone, but at least they have a nice commercial.

Japanese comedian Gekidan Hitori demonstrates how easy it is to find information for a girlfriend who wants to go out to eat.
