I was surprised a few days ago when Alvarion_Wimax started to follow me on twitter. It appears Alvarion has hired an Internet Marketing company to bring new ideas and methods to Alvarion’s traditional Marketing efforts.
With 7 updates, this is just the beginning, communicating with OM, posting videos on youtube , what will follow?
From the youtube link, it is evident that Alvarion has hired Inclover to manage their web presence. I wonder how effective are these methods in the Wireless Broadband field. Anyway, I think it is a very good idea.
I have just realized Airspan (NASDAQ: AIRN) have not released Q4 Earnings yet, with no published date for the Conference Call.
Odd, don’t you think?
I have been away from the Internet for the last 3 weeks as my family and I have relocated to Japan. Some errands (as well as internet connection) took longer than expected and still consume a lot of my time.
Airspan (NASDAQ:AIRN) stock is up 69% in one day.
Looking at the charts, it is quite obvious that today’s PR of Airspan Well positioned to Extend Market Leadership in U.S. Rural is the reason.
Airspan stock was at 0.14 until 11:48, 16 minutes after the PR was published, and 9 minutes after I received an E-mail notification. Which means, if you were a day trader, you had enough time to analyze, place the orders and watch your money grow.
Think about Packing Material (Plastic bag filled with air), think about a good marketing name for it. What do you come up with?
Surprisingly enough, a Japanese company came up with the name “Boy Pad” (while originally in Japanese it is Boy Pat – ボーイパット).
The “Boy Pad” may serve more than one purpose. Once you are done packing and have a few plastic bags lying around, you can always pad your pants to attract attention.
Alvarion has just released plans to deploy Mobile WiMAX in the DRC (Congo).
Not only good news for Alvarion ($4.5 Million contract), but better news for Congo and Africa. Although most Mobile WiMAX investments are seeking the Big Money of Tier 1 Deployments, I love to read a bout WiMAX deployments in Africa and other developing countries.
As much as I will enjoy using UQ Communications WiMAX network in Japan, WiMAX is the perfect technology for deploying Internet and Voice services in developing markets, in places where traditional telephony was never deployed.
Alvarion claims that the BreezeMAX 2500 received WiMAX Forum 3.5GHz Certification.
However, it does not appear in the WiMAX Forum Product Showcase.
I wonder who is responsible to this glitch? Alvarion marketing team or WiMAX Forum Ceritification lab?
Softbank Mobile will start LTE trial in Mito City (Ibaraki Perfecture). Trial license is from Feb. 17 to Dec. 31 2009.
This is the first LTE field trial in Japan, and an important step for LTE internationally. It is not reported which vendors participate in the trial.
Sequans Communications has introduced it’s newset chip, the SQN1210 in Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress.
The SQN1210 supports in a single Dye:
Sequans also claim the new chip has better power consumption and better performance. It is also reported that Zyxel has adopted the new chip and will use it in a tiny USB device.
Zyxel is working with Sequans for a long time, and is deploying CPEs in Sprint Network with the Sequans SQN1130.
